What is the Cottage capacity and bed size?
The Cottage sleeps up to 6 guests. There are 2 king size beds and 1 queen.
How do I get the keys?
Prior to your arrival, I will send you a Welcome Letter outlining all details for your stay, including key pick up and drop off.
Is there parking?
Yes we have 2, there is a driveway on either side of the cottage
Are children allowed?
The cottage is suitable for 1 couple and 2 children maximum or 2 couples and 2 children. We cater to families only.
Do you allow pets?
Sorry no pets allowed.
Can I check in early?
There are no early check-in's due to the time required for the prior guests to leave, cleaning services and preparation for you. Check in is 4PM.
Can I check out late?
Check out time is 11AM. To ensure the cottage is ready for any incoming guests we ask that you adhere to current check out times.
What is your cancellation policy?
Deposits are non refundable. There is no refund for early departure.
Will linens/towels be provided?
Yes, we provide sheets, towels, blankets, comforters, and pillows, but guests are asked to bring your own beach towels. If you could please kindly start a load prior to departure, it is greatly appreciated.
How far away is the nearest medical facility?
Hospital facilities are located in Bracebridge. Muskoka-Algonquin Healthcare 705-645-4404 ,75 Ann St, Bracebridge, ON P1L 2E4
What is the neighbourhood like, secluded, populated, safe?
Birchwood Cottage is in a quite neighbourhood on a dead end street (we are on a point). We have neighbours on either side and it is very safe. Like all homes, practice safety and lock all doors if you are leaving for a day trip.
Does the cottage have a phone or internet connection?
The cottage does not have a phone however cellular reception is excellent. We do have satellite TV and free wireless internet service available to all guests.

What is the best time of the year to go to the Condo?
Lake Muskoka offers an abundance of activities and attractions year around. Please see "What to Do" for more details.
Where does the water come from - is it safe to drink?
The cottage water comes from the lake. It is triple filtered and UV treated and very safe to drink. Depending upon personal preference, please feel free to bring bottled water.
What do you use for cooling or heating?
We have brand new air conditioning systems in both the cottage and boathouse. There is floor board heaters in each room with their own thermostat.
Is there a TV and VCR?
Yes, there is a satellite TV/ DVD player located in the main walk out floor. We also have a stereo with CD player.
Can we smoke?
No, we ask smokers to smoke outside and please butt out in a wet container and discard all filters. We are adamant about this request.
Is there cleaning staff?
Yes, however we ask you try to keep our cottage just as clean as we've prepared it for you. Minor cleaning is required with your rental. We understand messes may happen during your stay, that's why we have provided basic cleaning materials (vacuum, mop, bucket, cleaning agents, etc.) Garbage should be thrown out in the large box at the driveway entrance.
Will we need to bring dishes and cutlery?
No, we provide everything you need in the kitchen except food and drinks. Please bring your own paper towels & laundry detergent, etc.
Is there a BBQ?
Yes.

Yes, the cottage has a washer and dryer. Please feel free to use them, you will need to bring your own detergent.
