 Welcome to Fiddlehead Properties
Andros Bahamas is laced with thousands of miles of inland waterways and fishing flats. North, Middle and South Bights cut right through the island, east to west, creating a natural access to even more flats on the west side of the island. These provide world-class conditions for fly fishermen in pursuit of bonefish and tarpon.  See "Gallery of Property and Area" for fishing pictures

REEF AND DEEP SEA FISHING
Sure, Andros has great Bonefishing. Great schools of them and thousands of miles of flats in addition to vast amounts of Tarpon Serious fly fishermen come here and try to keep it all to themselves. Andros also has great reef and deep sea fishing, Grouper school in December and January, mutton snapper run in the summer. Dolphin and tuna and more keep spincasters fed.

We can arrange for you to go with a guide who have experience not just in fishing, but in catering to fishermen. They know the waters. Their boats are sound and properly equipped.

For fly fishing we recommend that you bring two 8 or 9 weight rods which are best for catching bonefish.
For spin fishing we recommend you to bring two rods that are light to medium action with 8-10lb line.
The weather is usually warm and sunny on Andros Island. The atmosphere is always relaxed, so wearing casual clothing is most appropriate.

Best Times of the year to Fish
Andros offers great year-round fishing. October thru mid-July is peak season to book a fishing trip, when weather and water temperatures are ideal.

Late Winter (January and February) –A wide variety of fish can be caught at the beginning of the calendar year. Best months for big bonefish! In addition to bonefish, it is possible to catch mahi, tuna and wahoo. Lots of barracuda on the flats.

Spring (March and April) – Peak bonefish season!!! Great time for tarpon fishing on the west side of the island.

Early Summer (May and June) – Bonefish, tarpon and barracuda are plentiful. Winds are calmer and afternoon rain showers are possible.

Late Summer and Fall (July, August and September) – Morning fishing is best for bonefish. Flats heat up quickly. This may be the perfect time for stalking shark, barracuda, and snapper. Calmest winds, except for the possibility of tropical storms. Tarpon are also available.

Late Fall and Winter (October, November and December) – All bights of Andros are very good at this time for bonefish.
