You will have to fly to Nassau Bahamas in order to get to Andros Island as there are no direct flights
There are 3 options to get from Nassau to Andros Island...air charter, airline, or ferry...
By Air:
Don't worry, we can assist in coordinating all travel from Nassau to Andros Island
Once I have your flight dates and times of arrival, I can coordinate your flight from Nassau to the San Andros Airport with a small charter airplane. You can also fly via Western Air www.westernairbahamas.com.
Nassau International Airport to Small Charter Airport:
Once you arrive in Nassau, pick up your luggage and we can arrange a taxi to pick you up right in front of the airport doors and take you to the "Charter Airport" or you can hail your own taxi, there are always many taxi’s waiting, just tell them you are going to the “Charter Airport” or Executive Airport.
Taxi: This short taxi ride will cost about $20.00 US (and $20.00 US on your return). The porter at the Charter Airport will carry your luggage for you (this is not optional) and you can expect to tip them $3-5.00 US + (and $3-5.00 US + on your return).
What other fees can I expect?
First of all, make sure you have many small bills for tipping, tipping is expected and required along your travels…please note that in the Bahamas, the local economy does not allow for high wages and the tips that they receive for carrying luggage is their sole income so please be conscientious and tip them. You will pay the pilot and taxi driver directly with cash but they will be waiting for your arrival.
Flight from Small Charter Airport to San Andros Airport:
Charter flight Luggage Limitations: 45 lbs per person. Fisherman: no extra-large fishing rod cases (over 4 feet), as the small planes cannot accommodate them.
1. Air Charter Flight: $70.00 per person, each way or $450 to reserve the whole plane.
If you would like to rent the whole plane which is quicker, you can purchase 4-5 seats both ways. Charter pilots generally need to fill their seats in order to depart so sometimes a wait could be 1 hour or more. If you rent the whole plane the wait will be less. If charter is delayed due to bad weather, this is called inherent vice which means that we are not responsible for refunding guests for lost nights at our beach house.
