Critters in Newfoundland
These oval, multi-legged critters are called "carpenter bugs" and are indigenous to household in Newfoundland. They love damp weather and are harmless. They actually keep other bugs at bay. You may want to vacuum them up if spotted. They typically reside on the floor around edges.
Newfoundland produces "huge" black flies and mosquitos. Repellent is under the sink.

Local Seafood
Rumor has it that you can purchase from the fishermen that come in daily to the harbor. Fresh caught crab and lobster (seasonal). A large stockpot is located under the microwave and shell crackers are in the drawer.
